The most iconic lineup and trademark of one of the most innovative musicians on the Italian and international music scene, among the most talented and recognizable trombonists in the world who can speak to different generations, to jazz audiences as well as to devotees of club culture. “Cosmic Renaissance,” Gianluca Petrella ‘s project in which the most spiritual jazz, Afro-futurist and space-jazz inspiration and electronic experimentation happily coexist.

Makaya McCraven – 9:30 p.m.

Makaya McCraven drummer, composer, and producer, among the most prolific on the contemporary scene was born in Paris in 1983 to a Hungarian mother and an African-American father, Makaya grew up in the vibrant area of Northampton, Massachusetts, where his father collaborated with Marion Brown, Yusef Lateef e Archie Shepp, as well as with African Gnawa musicians. His latest album “In These Times” is the grand-finale of a project more than seven years long, adding to his rich catalog. To define him with the word “jazz” would not be enough: we are in the face of an artist who combines and redesigns the past, future and present of sound, deconstructing predefined arrangements to which he gives new sonic meanings. Everyone praised his skills and taste in bringing new vitality to jazz, as we have not heard in a long time.
