GIANLUIGI TROVESI DANCES


It was February 1984 when at the Duni Theater in Matera a trio performed that was destined to leave an indelible mark on a group of young university students who, impressed by the musical project of Gianluigi Trovesi (reeds), Paolo Damiani (double bass) and Ettore Fioravanti (drums) ,decided to start an adventure related to the popularization of jazz music.

In 1985 the Trovesi Trio’s record “Dances” won the “Top Jazz” referendum held among readers of “Musica Jazz” and “Musica & Dischi” magazines as the best jazz album of the year.


Thirty-eight years later, this historic trio – supplemented by cellist Marco Remondini – has created the new project “Gianluigi Trovesi Dances”: an unmissable reunion, which is presented at the Casa del Jazz, at the end of a recording session, held in the previous days also at the Casa del Jazz, which will give birth to a new recording project for the Parco della Musica Records label.
