Ilaria Capalbo, an Italian composer and double bassist, has earned a prominent place among the most interesting musicians of the new generation. His first album as band leader, titled “Karthago,” described as an “Extraodinary Debut,” attracted the attention of national and international critics as well as numerous festivals. In recent years, from Stockholm, where she resides, Ilaria has built a strong network of international collaborations, proving herself a versatile musician with great sensitivity. Among the ensembles he performs with are the duo with guitarist Loke Risberg, the Italian trio Kòsmos, and Fredrik Nordström’s quartet. He has shared the stage with artists such as Norma Winstone, Chihiro Yamanaka, Amanda Ginsburg and Samuel Hällkvist. During the fall 2023 tour, he premieres new compositions written for his quintet, characterized by the use of electric sounds, experimental arrangements and strong interplay.
